சவுதியில் மரண தண்டனை தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ள அனுஜனின் விடுதலை தொடர்பில் அதிக கரிச்சினையோடு செயற்பட்டு வரும் சமூக செயற்பாட்டாளர்களில் ஒருவரான ரஜிவ்காந் அனோஜனோடு இன்று தொலைபேசியில் பேசிய பின்னர் அவர் வெளியிட்டுள்ள பதிவு
மிகவும் பொறுப்போடு அனைவர்க்கும் அறியத்தருகின்றேன்.
இன்று காலை 10.30 மணி அளவில் அனோஜனின் குடும்பத்தை சந்தித்தேன். அப்பொழுது அனோஜனின் தம்பி ஹம்சிதனுக்கு சவுதியில் இருந்து அனோஜனின் அழைப்பு வந்தது.
நான் அனோஜனிடம் 10 நிமிடங்கள் பேசினேன். இறுதியாக ஜூன் 30ம் திகதி அவர் கைதாகும்
முன்பு பேசியிருந்தேன்.
அனோஜனிடம் நான் மீண்டும் உறுதிப்படுத்திய விடயங்களை முழுமையாக தருகின்றேன்.
Cyber crime வழக்காக கையாளப்பட்ட அனோஜனின் வழக்கு முதலில் 5 ஆண்டு சிறைத் தண்டனை மற்றும் 3 மில்லியன் ரியால் தண்டப்பணம் எனத் தீர்ப்பளிக்கப்பட்டது.
பின்னர் இலங்கை அரசினூடாக மேன்முறையீடு செய்யப்பட்ட அவரின் தண்டனை குறைப்பு முயற்சி எடுக்கப்பட்டது
அதே வேளையில் அனோஜனுக்கு வழக்கு தொடர்ந்த சவுதித் தரப்பு தண்டனை போதாதென்று மீண்டும் மேன்முறையீடு செய்தது.
அதில் நபியை அவமதித்தல் மற்றும் அதனை பலருக்கு பரப்பியமை மற்றும் வேறு சில விடயங்களையும் இணைத்து வழக்கை வேறு கோணத்தில் மீண்டும் பதிவு செய்தார்கள்.
அதன் முடிவாக அவருக்கு மரண தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்டு அது அனோஜனுக்கு முழுமையாக கூறப்பட்டு அவரது குடும்பத்திற்கும் அறிவிக்குமாறு அழைப்பு எடுக்கும் வசதி வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
அதன் பின்னர் அவர் குடும்பத்திற்கு இதை அறிவித்துள்ளார்.
இலங்கை அரசால் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட வழக்கறிஞர் மற்றும் இலங்கையின் சவுதி தூததரகம் மிகவும் மெதுவாக வேலை செய்கின்றார்கள். அவர்கள் இன்னும் உத்தியோகப்பூர்வ செய்தியை பெறவில்லை என்பதை அடிப்படையாக வைத்து நாம் இந்த விடயங்களை பின்னுக்கு தள்ள முடியாது.
அவரது தண்டனை தொடர்பாகவும் சில விடயங்களை பிழையான புரிந்துணர்வுடன் கையாள்வது தொடர்பாகவும் அனோஜன் என்னிடம் கூறினார்.
7ம் திகதி வரை அவர் இருக்கும் சிறையில் இருந்து அவரலால் தொடர்பை ஏற்படுத்த முடியும்.
அவரது தண்டனையை ஏற்கனவே பல முறை அவர் உறுத்திப்படுத்திய அடிப்படையில் அவரின் விடுதலைக்காக நாம் கடுமையான உழைக்க வேண்டிய நிலை இருக்கின்றது.
I wish to inform everyone of the following with the utmost responsibility.
At around 10:30 this morning, I met Anojan’s family. While I was there, Anojan called his younger brother, Hamsithan, from Saudi Arabia.
I spoke with Anojan for approximately ten minutes. The last time I spoke with him was on 30 June, before his arrest.
I am providing below the full details that I reconfirmed directly with Anojan.
Anojan’s case was initially handled as a cybercrime case, and he was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and fined three million Saudi riyals.
An appeal was subsequently filed through the Sri Lankan government in an effort to reduce his sentence.
At the same time, the Saudi party that initiated the case against Anojan also appealed, arguing that the punishment was insufficient.
They then reframed the case by adding allegations that he had insulted the Prophet, circulated the content to many people, and committed several other related acts.
As a result, Anojan was sentenced to death. The decision was fully explained to him, and he was given an opportunity to call and inform his family. He subsequently conveyed the decision to them.
The lawyer appointed by the Sri Lankan government and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Saudi Arabia are responding very slowly. We cannot allow this matter to be delayed merely because they say they have not yet received official confirmation.
Anojan also spoke to me about his sentence and about certain aspects of the case being handled based on incorrect understandings.
He will be able to communicate from the prison where he is being held until the 7th.
As he has confirmed the sentence several times, we are now in a situation where we must work urgently and tirelessly to secure his release.
